Money and Ma Lakshmi

Money, money, money must be funny, in the rich man's world- many times makes me think how funny it is for rich man but necessary for a poor one. Money- a necessary evil, is required by all. It is your servant when you rule over it and if you become its servant it will create chaos in your life.
Everybody knows its importance in our life but how many get successful to get it that much by which their life goes on smooth? Sometimes its happen like that you go in search of money and return back not only with failure but with loss. It looks like that gains and loss has a hair line difference and takes no time to cross their boundary Only if you are not attentive to make their limit strong.
How the prosperity and loss are interconnected with each other and what Vedas tells us about them shows relation of wealth and poverty is manifested.
To attain the nectar from ocean - Gods and demons both joined hands with each other to churn the Ksheer Ocean with Mandrachal mountain and Vasuki as the rope mounted on the back of Lord Vishnu incarnated as big tortoise on the basin of the ocean, so that by the divine powers of Lord Vishnu - the mountain would not able to sink in the basin. During this cosmic churn-  many jewels and riches there appeared, a deadly poison- halaahal- that was consumed and held in the neck of Lord Shiva, also appeared an ugly woman with rude nature. She had no virtue and was harsh in speech. She was named as Daridra- that was bestowed with the qualities that brings poverty. She was happy where enmities grow and have quarrelsome environment. After that just opposite to it - a beautiful, soft hearted and endowed with good qualities - woman appeared. She was coined with the name Laxmi, derived from the sanskrit word- Lakshya means to aim or the goal because all desire to be her  was good at heart and sweet spoken. Everyone wants to be her as partner, but she chose Lord Vishnu as her partner but she refused to marry Lord Vishnu until her elder sister Daridra got married. But no one was ready to marry Daridra. At last Vishnujee asked his dear bhakt who as ascetic and totally detach from the materialistic world. He accepted Lord's request and marry Daridra. But in a few days became restless as Daridra likes filth and was lazy. She cannot bear the fumes of incences and also hates worshipping God. She was quarrelsome and could not stay where there is peace and tranquility.
The Lord's Bhakt - the saint asked his wife Daridra to go for a walk. After a while Daridra got tired and both of them sat under a holy fig tree known as Peepal. Daridra was hungry and cried for a food. The Saint ran to fetch something for her but on his way, he fled. There the cries of Daridra became louder and louder that caught attention of all including Devtas. She was in doubt that her ill behave may have caused the Saint to leave her - then who will feed her and give shelter. Then her younger sister Laxmi came in front to help her. She promised her that on that holy fig tree Laxmi will reside and who so ever worship that holy fig six days she will bless them with riches whereas who so ever worship that holy fig tree on Sunday-  she will abode on the tree and will receive the offerings and will stay in that person’s house who pray on Sunday on peepal tree by this way her problem of livelihood was solved. Saint was watching all this by far. At last, he got rid of Daridra and again he was able to perform religious rites without any disturbance. And there Daridra got her livelihood – that is why it is not prescribed to pray the holy fig on Sundays.
